DOVER, Del. (5/6/15)--At the Delaware Credit Union League’s 57th annual meeting and convention, board Chair Allen Riley, vice president of operations, Sussex County FCU, urged members of the Young Professionals Network to “learn everything you can” about their credit unions to carry on the legacies of their current C-level executives.
He said that young people needed must keep credit unions viable as baby boomers retire.
Keynote speaker Michael Hudson, founder and principal of CreditUnionStrategy.com, told attendees they must “share their stories” with consumers. Credit unions must tell the stories of how they began along with their current stories of success, he said.
Kathleen Adams, board member, Dover FCU, was named the league’s Outstanding Volunteer for 2014.
Sherry Shockley, chief financial officer, Sussex County FCU, Seaford, was named the league’s Outstanding Professional for 2014.
Business conducted at the 57th annual meeting included the election of two league board members. Incumbent board members Heather Shupe, Dover FCU, and Susan Winward, Wilmington Postal FCU, were elected to three-year terms.
