Productivity expert Neen James says every credit union ought to have an “email charter” that guides staff to use the communication channel most effectively.
She addressed the 21st annual CUNA CFO Council Conference Sunday in New Orleans.
Steer clear of sending or responding to late-night emails, James advises.
“I appreciate how hard we work, but we don’t deliver babies and we don’t cure cancer,” she says.
Credit union professionals also should condense email messages into the subject line if at all possible, while avoiding the urge to issue a reply simply to say “thank you.”
