NEW YORK (6/25/15)--The love affair with mobile-banking technology continues to grow, as a recent survey found that one-third of consumers now access financial services on their mobile devices--many of them doing so at work, at the store or even on dates.
The survey, conducted by Chase, found that 33% of consumers use their mobile apps and 35% use online financial services, while only 16% reported visiting their local branches more often.
“This survey tells us what our customers have shown us over the last two years,” said Barry Sommers, CEO, Chase Consumer Banking. “They love the ease of handling their routine banking online, on their phone and at an ATM.”
Still, accessing accounts online still holds the advantage, as the survey found that 70% access their financial institution’s website or online portal, compared with 47% who use a smart device.
