NEW ORLEANS (8/11/15)--Eleven credit union leaders from Louisiana were inducted into the Louisiana Credit Union Hall of Fame recently during the Louisiana Credit Union League’s (LCUL) annual meeting and convention in New Orleans.
The hall of fame recognizes credit union professionals and volunteers who have brought valuable leadership, commitment, dedication or contributions to the state’s credit union movement.
LCUL has built a special wall at the league’s headquarters on which it displays the names of those who have been inducted into the hall of fame. Further, a $500 donation has been made to the Louisiana Credit Union Foundation in the name of each inductee this year. Since its inception, the hall of fame has raised more than $32,000 for the foundation.
The league also presented CUNA recognition awards during the annual meeting.
For the Desjardins Youth Financial Education Award, which recognizes credit unions that have made a significant commitment to youth financial literacy, the winner was:

For the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award, which recognizes credit unions that have made significant contributions to the local communities they serve through outreach programs not related to financial education, the winners were:
Winners will move on to CUNA’s national competition.
