ALEXANDRIA, Va. (9/14/15)--A new video series for credit union directors from the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) outlines the keys to effective board leadership and adds to a growing realm of training options for directors.
“I encourage both new and experienced credit union directors to watch this series…it offers good advice aimed at helping them be better leaders,” said NCUA Board Chairman Debbie Matz.
The seven-part video series is offered through NCUA’s Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives and aims “to strengthen credit unions and the system overall,” said Matz.
It is designed specifically for directors of small and medium-sized credit unions and features case studies to help directors analyze leadership issues they may face in their credit unions. It includes an online test and offers a certificate if the director has a satisfactory score.
Other videos will be available by the end of the year.
CUNA also offers training for volunteers and directors, including a Must-know Mondays webinar series, 21 volunteer-related Training on Demand titles, and 50 Volunteer Achievement Program titles with seven targeting leadership.
