WASHINGTON (9/23/15 UPDATED 1 p.m. ET)--CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle announced Wednesday that CUNA will reduce member dues in 2016. In a special edition of The Nussle Report, Nussle highlighted recommendations he made to CUNA’s board which CUNA will be taking action to implement as soon as possible.
“The reduction recognizes the need to continue to make CUNA leaner and more agile and to calculate dues in a way that that celebrates and rewards credit union success and asset growth,” Nussle wrote, adding that efforts CUNA has taken to streamline expenses have saved $1.4 million.
Nussle has also proposed creating two new non-voting membership classes. One would be for professionals and volunteers and the other for system partners and vendors.
“The goal is to encourage greater individual advocacy at all levels of the CUNA/League system,” Nussle wrote, adding that CUNA and the leagues have committed to a new level of cooperation in service to credit unions.
