FARMERS BRANCH, Texas (9/29/15)--Credit unions in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas raised more than $657,644 during 2014 to support activities of the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation (CSCUF), according to the foundation’s most recent Impact Report.
They did so by supporting three main fundraising initiatives--the 17th Annual Golf Tournament, the Festival of Trees and Financial Fitness Day--and raising funds via payroll deductions, chapter fundraising events, the Community Investment Fund (CIF), individual gifts and memorials or honorariums.
The foundation awarded 157 grants totaling $241,472 for Real Solutions, the Texas Council on Economic Education, National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF) initiatives, 37 scholarships, eight Junior Achievement grants, nine chapter grants, El Paso Affordable Housing CUSO and 50 professional development grants.
“We simply would not be positioned to be as successful as we have been over the years without the support of our credit unions and other contributors,” said CSCUF Executive Director Courtney Moran. “Together we are truly making the difference.”
