WASHINGTON (9/30/15)--Today’s U.S. House Financial Services Committee markup features four bills CUNA believes will remove barriers preventing credit unions from better serving their members. In a letter written to committee leadership for the hearing’s record, CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle thanked the committee for considering the regulatory relief legislation.
“We appreciate the efforts of the committee to remove barriers so that credit unions can more fully serve their members,” Nussle wrote. “When credit unions’ boards and managers--not government bureaucrats--are making decisions about how to provide services, the member-owners of the credit union benefit.”
Five bills will be included in today’s markup, four of which are supported by CUNA.
