NAPERVILLE, Ill. (10/21/15)--More than 75 young Illinois credit union professionals attended the second annual CU Reach, a two-day conference aimed at inspiring and preparing them for life-long careers in Illinois’ credit union movement, according to the Illinois Credit Union League.
At the 2015 Young Professionals Conference professionals age 40 or younger learned more about the values and philosophies of the credit union movement. Responding to preferences of young professionals, the event featured interactive team building, networking activities, and discussions about career opportunities and establishing a brand.
Attendees participated in peer-to-peer sharing about how the conference can contribute to their success, and had an opportunity to get advice from seasoned leaders on the conference’s CEO Executive Panel.
The conference focused on an 1980s-fueled theme, Totally Credit Unions.
Many young professionals “have one concern that keeps us awake at night, and that is: ‘Where do I go from here?’” said Denice Saucedo, business development manager for Chicago-based North Side Community FCU.
“The CEO Panel helped to remind us they were all once in our shoes, and with passion and hard work, we too can follow in their footsteps,” she added.
