NAPERVILLE, Ill. (10/23/15)--The Illinois Credit Union League’s inaugural Women’s Leadership Conference was a sell-out, with nearly 80 participants from across the state, said the league.
The one-day conference held in Lisle, Ill., aimed to help women focus on developing and enhancing their leadership skills, and provided networking opportunities and advice on how to achieve their goals and empower other women.
Retired Army Col. Jill Morgenthaler joined presenters from credit unions, state politics, and an entrepreneurial woman-owned business to discuss topics such as “Do’s and Don’ts of Success,” “Engaging You Female (Credit Union) Member,” “The Power of Women in Politics,” “Building Your Network,” “Thoughtful Leadership” and “Leadership in a Man’s World.”
“Personally, I benefited from a couple of terrific women leaders in my career and have been able to use what they taught me about leading people,” said league President/CEO Tom Kane in kicking off the meeting. “Ultimately, our hope is that our conference attendees gained insight that they will be able to use at their credit unions for years to come.”
