MADISON, Wis., and WASHINGTON (11/6/15)--CUNA has received the first nomination for open positions on CUNA’s board of directors.
Roger Heacock, president/CEO, Black Hills FCU, Rapid City, S.D., was nominated for the District 5, Class B seat.
District 5 covers Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah and Wyoming. Class B represents credit unions having at least 30,000 but not more than 106,000 natural-person members.
The deadline for nominations and seconds is Dec. 4. Voting will begin Dec. 9 and close Jan. 15. Nomination information can be found on CUNA’s website.
The positions up for election are:
District 1--Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands:
District 2--Delaware, District of Columbia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia:
District 3--Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee:
District 4--Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri and Wisconsin:
District 5--Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Utah and Wyoming:
District 6--Alaska, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, American Samoa, Guam, Johnston Atoll, Midway Atoll, Northern Mariana Islands, Palmyra Atoll and Wake Atoll:
In addition, per CUNA’s bylaws, no more than two of the voting CUNA directors shall be from members located in any one state. There are currently two CUNA directors serving from California; therefore, nominations for District 6, Class A and District 6, Class D cannot be accepted from individuals from California.
Directors elected will take office upon the adjournment of CUNA's Annual General Meeting in Washington, D.C., Feb. 22, during the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference.
