SANTA ROSA, Calif. (11/9/15)--Redwood CU exceeded its 2015 United Way workplace-giving goal with $102,866 in contributions. The Santa Rosa, Calif.-based credit union raised $98,175 last year and set a goal of $100,000 for 2015. Credit union employees also spread their good work in the community by packing food and meals for the Redwood Empire Food Bank and the Council on Aging, and preparing meals for the Ceres Community Project in Sebastopol ...

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas (11/9/15)--During the third quarter of 2015, the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation awarded $35,723 in grants (Leaguer Nov. 6). Grants covered financial education, disaster relief, credit union training and Junior Achievement. “As a small credit union, we could not accomplish all that we do without the help of the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation,” said Melissa Herrington, Garland County Educators FCU, Hot Springs, Ark. “We were able to use our grant proceeds to cover the cost of invaluable education benefits provided by the Cornerstone Credit Union League.” The foundation expects to process more disaster relief grants as communities recover from recent flooding and aftereffects of the spring storm season ...
