ST. JOSEPH, Mich. (11/9/15)--United FCU is expanding the sentiment of honoring U.S. veterans with a full week of appreciation for public servants as well.
The St. Joseph, Mich.-based credit union is hosting a “Hero Appreciation Week” at all of its branches in six states today through Friday.
“As we go about our lives, it’s easy to forget to say ‘thank you,’” said President/CEO Gary Easterling. “It’s important to take the time to express gratitude both to the veterans who have bravely put their lives on the line for our country, and to the other heroes among us who put their effort into helping others every day.”
Veterans Day is Wednesday, and United FCU is keeping its doors open during the federal holiday so members and the general public can sign giant thank-you cards that will be sent to troops overseas.
Today, the credit union will honor law enforcement officers, followed by doctors, nurses and first responders on Tuesday. Thursday is set aside for firefighters, and teachers will be celebrated Friday.
United FCU is inviting professionals from all the groups to visit any of its branches to be recognized throughout the week.
