MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (11/12/15)--The combined fundraising efforts of Mid-Atlantic Corporate FCU and central Pennsylvania credit unions for Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals recently hit the $1 million mark.
In its ninth year running, the team again took to the airwaves last week with its Pay 4 Play radio-thon to raise money for the Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital, a CMN Hospital.
Through the campaign, callers pay to request songs on 105.7 “The X Rocks,” and after 28 hours straight of fundraising, more than $210,000 was raised this year.
“This year was truly an inspirational year,” said Erin Doan, Mid-Atlantic administration and community relations director. “To be able to say we’ve now raised over $1 million for CMN Hospitals is a momentous feat and we couldn’t be any more proud of what has been accomplished through Pay 4 Play.”
In addition to radio personalities Earl David Reed and Jen Shade, volunteers from Mid-Atlantic and eight credit unions in central Pennsylvania were on-hand accepting requests and donations.
Furthermore, a number of credit unions sponsored the event, including:
