MADISON, Wis. (11/19/15)--Credit Union Magazine has put a call out for nominations for the 2016 CU Heroes. CU Heroes are those who serve as examples for the entire movement through service, advocacy and commitment to credit union ideals. Nominations are due Dec. 15.
“This is a special opportunity to recognize individuals who give everything they have to the credit union movement,” said Ann Peterson, CUNA vice president of publishing. “We are searching for individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to the credit union movement.”
The 2016 CU Hero of the Year is sponsored by Card Services for Credit Unions (CSCU). Joel Smith, CSCU assistant vice president of marketing, said: “The CU Heroes program exemplifies the credit union philosophy of people helping people. We are proud to support credit union employees who positively impact their communities.”
Those selected as CU Heroes will be featured in the March issue of Credit Union Magazine. Readers, then, will have the opportunity to vote on news.cuna.org to decide the 2016 CU Hero of the Year.
The Hero will be honored at CUNA’s America’s Credit Union Conference, June 26-29, in Seattle.
