MALVERN, Pa. (12/28/15)--A new ink-staining security system from 3SI protects ATMs, which are a prime target for physical attacks by criminals trying to steal thousands in cash.
SecuriDab LT first detects a physical attack on the ATM then communicates with the staining devices inserted in the cash cassette. With its multi-phased activation method, the system indelibly stains the currency in the cassette during a confirmed attack and protects against accidental activation.
Responding to customers’ requests to protect against physical attacks on ATMs and cash machines, 3SI developed and introduced the “cost-effective and flexible solution that customers can install and maintain on their own,” said Mary Pifer, 3SI vice president of international marketing and product management.
The system detects various kinds of attacks including tilt from a pull-out attempt, break-ins and unauthorized openings. The system can also receive input from external alarms and locks.
