WASHINGTON (1/4/16)--In a special video message sent to member credit unions Sunday, Credit Union National Association President/CEO Jim Nussle set forth the 2016 framework for the nation’s largest credit union trade association.
“For 2016, our agenda will advance advocacy goals in four key areas: Reducing the regulatory burden facing credit unions; expanding consumer and small business access to credit unions; engaging in the development of public policy related to payments and data security; and preserving favorable tax treatment for credit unions,” Nussle said.
Another key goal is to ease the compliance burden by expanding access to CUNA and the leagues’ premier resources and training, he said.
Nussle also outlined the pillars that will guide the work of CUNA’s Corporate Governance Committee as they evaluate recommendations to modernize the association’s bylaws.
