SACRAMENTO, Calif. (1/8/16)--The California Credit Union League is gearing up for a busy legislative calendar this year. It has its sights particularly set on a bill package that would modernize the state credit union charter (In the News Jan. 5).
The package would enhance the California state charter by updating outdated provisions in the law and improving the overall operating environment for credit unions in the state, the league said.
The league added that it also will strongly advocate for measures that would improve the ability of state-chartered credit unions to work with credit union service organizations. Additionally, it will work to provide state-chartered low-income designated credit unions parity with federal credit unions by permitting the same LID authorities.
