Foundation breaks down FiCEP with new video

January 11, 2016

MADISON, Wis. (1/11/16)--The National Credit Union Foundation has launched a new video to illustrate the benefits of its popular Financial Counselor Training program, called the Enhanced FiCEP Program.

The video provides an overview of the program--an updated version of the Credit Union Financial Counseling Certification (FiCEP) program--and features testimonials from numerous credit union leaders who already have received certification.

The program offers training for credit union professionals, including frontline staff, in financial counseling principles so that any credit union staff member can provide financial advice.

“FiCEP training enables credit union staff to become more confident in helping members build a stronger financial future,” the foundation said. “The Enhanced FiCEP program concluded last year with 275 new credit union staff in nine states from 95 credit unions becoming Certified Credit Union Financial Counselors.”

FiCEP is made possible through a partnership between the foundation’s REAL Solutions program, the Credit Union National Association’s Center for Professional Development, credit union leagues and individual credit unions.
