HARRISBURG, Pa., and MARLBOROUGH, Mass. (1/21/16)--January marks another boost in creating awareness of the credit union difference with two state credit union league programs.
Today and Friday, New Hampshire credit unions are hosting the state’s first “In Your Neighborhood” events as part of the Cooperative Credit Union Association’s “Better Values. Better Banking.” campaign.
Local credit unions can join the CBS Radio team from WBMX-FM to engage consumers in conversations about delivering a better financial institution experience, the credit union difference and how to join a credit union. Customers at the Pressed Cafe in Nashua and Breaking New Ground Coffee in Portsmouth will get a free cup of coffee, and the “Better Values.” team will distribute gift cards so consumers can pay it forward (Daily CU Scan Jan. 19).
Other New Hampshire “In Your Neighborhood” events are being planned in the Rochester, Concord and Keene areas.
The Pennsylvania Credit Union Association kicked off its 2016 iBelong campaign this week in all seven media markets. The strong television presence includes exclusive local sponsorship of NBC’s “The Voice” as well as lead-in and in-program commercials in several markets (Life is a Highway Jan. 19).
Other markets will include sponsorships of other highly rated shows popular with the targeted demographic of women age 25 to 49 as well as sponsorships with local news programs.
Because 2016 is an election year, the television campaign will use high-impact sponsorships instead of traditional advertising to insulate it from being bumped by political advertising.
After a successful pilot, iBelong will continue to use Pandora to target younger adults, and in-app marketing will deliver ads and videos--targeted to geographic areas surrounding branch offices of participating credit unions--through mobile-centric channels.
