TALLAHASSEE, Fla., and BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (3/15/16)--The League of Southeastern Credit Unions (LSCU) announced its member credit unions will receive a dues rebate of 6.5% or just more than $225,000--the fourth consecutive year the league has offered its members a reimbursement.
“Since we first began giving the dues rebate four years ago, the league has been able to return more than $1 million to our affiliated credit unions,” LSCU President/CEO Patrick La Pine wrote in a letter to the league’s membership. “Through some affiliated patronage dividends over the previous three years, we have been able to also return $300,000 for a total of $1.3 million.”
La Pine said the rebate is also a testament of the success of the league’s educational events and of LEVERAGE, its subsidiary (eSignal Daily March 14).
During its meeting last week, the LSCU board adopted an interdependency agreement between the league and the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) that states how LSCU can work with CUNA to promote the joint value proposition of the two trade associations. “The credit union system is stronger when CUNA and leagues are working closely together,” La Pine wrote.
