ALEXANDRIA, Va. (3/15/16)-- A financial literacy program emphasizing financial education, access to affordable financial services and financial capability to make smart money management decisions can improve an individual’s overall financial well-being, and the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) is offering a March 30 webinar on how to do it right.
The free webinar, “The Pathway to Financial Well-Being,” will start at 2 p.m. (ET), and registration is available online here. Participants will use the same link to log in to the online session.
April is National Financial Literacy Month, and the NCUA’s webinar is part of the agency’s activities to mark the month. The NCUA will provide participants with information on several key topics, including:
The agency noted that financial literacy is a core credit union mission and the NCUA acts to "reinforce credit union efforts, raise consumer awareness and increase access to credit union services." It also participates in national financial literacy initiatives, including the Financial Literacy and Education Commission, an interagency group created by the U.S. Congress to improve the nation’s financial literacy and education.
