The power for an organization to shine is hidden within the daily routine, keynote speaker Simon Bailey told the CUNA HR & Organizational Development Council Conference in Orlando, Fla., Monday.
Successful employees thrive in an atmosphere that celebrates brilliance and potential, said Bailey, author of “Shift Your Brilliance.”
He encouraged credit unions to be creative at all levels: the member’s experience, the employee’s career and the organization’s value.
To become the best leader you can be, make sure others see you as an influential person relaying a worthwhile message, said communication expert Stacey Hanke, who gave Tuesday’s keynote presentation.
A Tuesday panel discussion addressed how credit unions can attract, develop, and retain talented employees using technology and remote learning opportunities.
Changes in the Fair Labor Standards Act will be challenging, said Aaron Zandy, managing partner at Ford & Harrison LLP. “The best thing your credit union can do is proactively get ahead of the wage and hour issues,” he said.
