CUNA will host the first-ever CUNA Internal Audit Certification School, Oct. 10-13, in Denver.
Created in partnership with the Association of Credit Union Internal Auditors (ACUIA), the school offers comprehensive training in core areas of credit union internal auditing and provides attendees the opportunity to earn the Certified Credit Union Internal Auditor (CCUIA) designation.
“This is an intensive program developed specifically for those in—or who want to be in—the field of credit union internal auditing,” said James Carrick, CUNA vice president of learning events. “With the support, resources and vision of the ACUIA, we have created a unique event where auditors can grow their knowledge and assert their expertise.”
Sessions are conducted by auditing experts and address internal controls, risk, financial management, communications and more. After the four-day program, attendees will be qualified to complete the CCUIA exam.
“Internal auditors are currently in high demand, making this training highly valuable,” said John Gallagher, ACUIA chair. “This school has been carefully vetted by our experts to ensure that attendees gain the tools to negotiate the responsibilities of modern internal auditing and serve their credit unions to the best of their ability.”
