The American Association of Credit Union Leagues (AACUL) is having its quarterly League President meeting with CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle in Washington DC today and tomorrow.
The chief executives of 23 credit union leagues/associations, representing almost 4,000 CUs, are meeting to work collaboratively on key credit union topics and to address current and future strategic issues, challenges and opportunities for credit unions and key system players.
Among the underlying purposes of the meeting is to build on interdependence between the leagues and CUNA that ensures credit union interests are strategically addressed at state and federal levels simultaneously, not separately,” said Brad Miller, AACUL executive director. “The strength of the credit union movement lies in this very powerful and purposeful dynamic of interdependence between state and federal entities.”
Among the topics on the agenda are efforts to better communicate the credit union difference in a consumer-facing awareness campaign, addressing the regulatory burden, affiliation and system interdependence discussions.
