CUNA will be in attendance Thursday as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Credit Union Advisory Council (CUAC) conducts its semi-annual meeting. The meeting, which will be streamed live starting at 3:30 p.m. (ET), will feature remarks from CFPB Director Richard Cordray, as well as discussions about debt collection and youth financial literacy.
The CUAC’s mission is to advise CFPB on regulating financial products and services, including how its actions affect credit unions.
The council contains mostly CUNA members, including 7 CUNA members out of 8 new members selected in August.
Video of the March CUAC meeting is available here. Topics included small-dollar lending, consumer complaint handling and overdraft protection.
