Comments on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's (CFPB) Request for Information concerning short-term, small-dollar products and practices are due to the bureau this month, as part of the agency’s rulemaking on such loans. CUNA has submitted its comment on the proposal itself, urging the bureau to exempt consumer friendly credit union small dollar loans and other services from its rule.
According to its request for information, the CFPB is seeking additional information about small dollar loans in addition to the more than 1300-page proposed rule. Comments are due Nov. 7.
