CUNA HR Compliance School, in partnership with CU Doctor, LLC will kick off its second year July 23-26 in Orlando, Fla. The school offers a comprehensive education in credit union HR regulations and compliance best practices.
It also allows first year students to earn the Credit Union HR Compliance Professional (CUHRCP) designation and current CUHRCP designees to continue their professional development through new and advanced classes.
“It's exciting for credit union human resource professionals that we finally have our own certification to highlight our competency and credibility,” said Colleen Brooks, VP of Human Resources & Risk Management at Abri Credit Union, Romeoville, Ill. “HR Compliance is a complex, critical area for all credit unions and certified HR professionals will make huge contributions in our industry.”
First year students complete pre-requisite classes, prior to arriving to the school, that provide foundational knowledge of HR regulations and prepare them for the CUHRCP exam. At the school, students begin with an instructor-led study session followed by the CUHRCP exam.
Finally, they build upon that foundation in classes that explore specific compliance issues.
Returning students build upon their first year education and continue their professional development by attending new core classes and advanced level elective classes when they arrive to the school.
The school is held in partnership with CU Doctor, LLC, a full-service credit union consultancy that provides guidance on strategic planning, compliance, human resources and other issues.
CU Doctor founder David Reed and President Diane Reed will speak at the event, along with a range of industry experts.
