Sixty-four students earned the Credit Union HR Compliance Professional designation at the first-ever CUNA HR Compliance School, in partnership with CU Doctor, held Oct. 9-12, in Phoenix.
“By earning this designation, these students have equipped themselves with the knowledge to maintain total propriety in their HR department,” said Melisa Kallestad, CUNA compliance instructional design manager. “We congratulate our designees for being the first to earn this career-enhancing title and for cultivating such deep expertise in the subject of credit union HR compliance.”
CUNA HR Compliance School, in partnership with CU Doctor, provides a practical education on the unique compliance responsibilities of HR professionals in the credit union industry. The program’s expert-led classes address regulatory requirements in key HR areas, including wage and payroll administration, employee classification, safety in the workplace, harassment and discrimination protections, pre-employment screening, leave policies, retirement benefits and more.
Upon completing the school, students are able to test for the CUHRCP designation.
”Never have I seen such an engaged, committed and enthusiastic group of credit union professionals.” said Diane Reed, president of CU Doctor. “It was such a blessing to know our industry's future is in the hands of such innovative and dedicated professionals. Every credit union represented should rest easy that their employees are in good hands.”
Next year’s CUNA HR Compliance School has been scheduled for July 23-26, 2017, in Orlando, Fla.
