The 2017 CUNA Financial Management School will be held July 30-Aug. 3 in Las Vegas. Designed around the Stanford Bank Game, an asset-liability management simulator, the school lets credit union professionals practice real-world financial management scenarios and develop a hands-on understanding of fiscal leadership.
“There are certain aspects of financial management that just can’t be taught. The Stanford Bank Game gives attendees firsthand experience,” said Amanda Schumacher, CUNA instructional design finance/operations manager. “Through playing the game, attendees of CUNA Financial Management School discover the hidden, emergent challenges of financial strategy and gain the confidence to lead their credit unions to profitability and growth.”
The school includes 3 study segments, which may be taken independently or in sequence:
Speakers at CUNA Financial Management School are experienced financial and economic experts, including Timothy Gardner, CUNA Mutual Group sales executive; Jeanne Sheahan, CUNA director of research services; and Steven Rick, CUNA Mutual Group chief economist.
