With the launch of CUNA’s Campaign for Common-Sense Regulation earlier this year, CUNA hosted a webinar highlighting how CUNA’s Member Activation Program (MAP) fits in with the campaign. MAP is a program designed to inform and educate credit union members about credit union issues and to activate them to call on lawmakers to support the industry’s priorities.
“This year, MAP messages will be focused on educating and activating credit union members on regulatory burden issues,” said Richard Gose, CUNA chief political officer. “Our first communication for the campaign
was is meant to educate credit unions members in a straightforward manner about the need for regulatory relief.”
Prior to the launch of the campaign, 310 credit unions were part of MAP; after the campaign’s launch, the number has risen to 415.
CUNA’s MAP Toolkit includes a number of email templates that can be customized by credit unions to best speak to their members. One is a longer-form email, the other short, depending on how each individual credit union chooses to reach out to their members.
The webinar also features a demonstration on how credit unions can choose a template and customize it to their needs.
MAP and the Campaign for Common-Sense Regulation will be a focal point of discussions during CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference, which starts next week. A breakout session Monday will feature a panel of credit union leaders who have used MAP to successfully engage their membership.
