Credit union organizations have until March 31 to apply for a Biz Kid$ Financial Education Grant from the National Credit Union Foundation.
The Foundation is looking to distribute up to $75,000 in grant funds to credit union organizations as part of this effort.
The grants are awarded to organizations that would use the funding for programs that incorporate Biz Kid$ to improve youth financial literacy. The projects can leverage partnerships with teachers, students, local PBS stations, or other community stakeholders who can help plan events, organize activities or circulate curriculum.
Biz Kid$ is a financial literacy initiative launched nationally in January 2008 that teaches kids about money and business. The initiative includes an award-winning TV series, free classroom curriculum, outreach activities, and a website targeting children 9-16 years old.
