CUNA announced the certification of two groups of graduates from its certification programs.
The first 2017 CUNA & ACUIA Internal Audit Certification School, held March 27-30 in Orlando, Fla., presented 75 graduates with the Certified Credit Union Internal Audit (CCUIA) designation, a title that conveys full expertise in credit union internal auditing.
Presented in partnership with the Association of Credit Union Internal Auditors (ACUIA), CUNA & ACUIA Internal Audit Certification School offers a comprehensive education in credit union internal auditing, covering basic auditing concepts and responsibilities as well as risk, controls and compliance. Students who complete the school can test for the CCUIA designation.
A second 2017 CUNA & ACUIA Internal Audit Certification School will be held Sept. 25-28 in Tempe, Ariz. To learn more about the school and register, please visit training.cuna.org/iacs.
The spring 2017 CUNA Enterprise Risk Management Certification School, held April 3-5, 2017, in Austin, Texas, awarded 55 attendees with the Credit Union Enterprise Risk Management Expert (CUERME) designation, which signifies mastery of enterprise risk management (ERM) for credit unions.
ERM is a renowned business discipline employed by organizations in a wide range of industries to identify, assess and respond to risk. Rather than approach risk as an obstacle, ERM treats it as a tool for creating value and building a competitive edge.
A powerful networking opportunity, CUNA Enterprise Risk Management Certification School provides ample opportunities to gain new contacts in the risk community. While developing their risk management skills, attendees connect with each other by discussing their roles, sharing struggles and successes from their credit unions, and brainstorming ways to improve their processes.
Presented in partnership with Rochdale Paragon Group, a leading credit union consultancy, CUNA Enterprise Risk Management Certification School teaches ERM through a combination of expert sessions and group exercises. By completing the school, attendees can test for the CUERME designation.
The next session of the school will be held Dec. 4-6 in Las Vegas.
