Representatives from two CUNA-member credit unions will testify during a July 20 hearing on housing finance reform hosted by the U.S. Senate Banking Committee.
Tim Mislansky, senior vice president and chief lending officer, Wright-Patt CU, and president, myCUmortgage LLC, Beavercreek, Ohio, will testify on behalf of CUNA. Charles Purvis, president/CEO, Coastal FCU, Raleigh, N.C., will also be testifying.The committee on banking, housing, and urban affairs will conduct the hearing titled “Housing Finance Reform: Maintaining Access for Small Lenders.”
CUNA supports housing finance reform proposals that include the secondary market be open to lenders of all sizes on an equitable basis, and a system that includes consumer access to products that provide for predictable, affordable mortgage payments to qualified borrowers, such as a 30-year mortgage.
The hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. (ET) July 20.
