It is critical credit unions are able to continue to meet their members’ mortgage needs, a CUNA witness will tell the Senate Banking Committee Thursday in a hearing on housing reform. Tim Mislansky, senior vice president and chief lending officer, Wright-Patt CU, and president, myCUmortgage LLC, Beavercreek, Ohio, will testify on behalf of CUNA.
During his testimony, Mislansky will stress the need for credit union access to a functioning, well-regulated secondary market and a system that will accommodate member-demand for long term fixed rate mortgage products.
The hearing is titled “Housing Finance Reform: Maintaining Access for Small Lenders,” and is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. (ET). It will be streamed live on the committee’s website.
