CUNA Credit Union Financial Counselor Workshop--an all-new event that allows Certified Credit Union Financial Counselors (CCUFC) to recertify their designations, refresh their counseling skills, and discover new techniques for meeting members’ financial needs--will debut Sept. 17-18 in Tempe, Ariz.
“Recertification is a key part of this workshop, but it’s by no means the only reason to attend,” said Courtney Cantwell, CUNA instructional design manager. “It’s a chance to reacquaint yourself with the art of counseling, hone your command of best practices and, most importantly, find new ways to address the personal financial challenges of today’s members.”
On the first day of the workshop, participants will attend a CCUFC recertification review session led by Chris Wolgamott, director of financial counseling for Meritrust CU in Wichita, Kan., and then complete a recertification exam. By passing the exam, attendees retain their designation for an additional three years.
After the review session and exam, attendees will dive into best practices, take part in an interactive simulation and network with peers.
