The 2018 CUNA Volunteer Conference will be held Jan. 28-31 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Presented in cooperation with the World Council of Credit Unions, the Canadian Credit Union Association (CCUA) and the Caribbean Confederation of Credit Unions (CCCU), the conference provides opportunities for volunteers to network, get up to date on the state of the industry and learn new ways to contribute to their board.
“CUNA Volunteer Conference is a reinvigorating experience for volunteers,” said Michelle Johnson, CUNA instructional design manager. “By stepping out of their role and joining this event, they meet people who expand their horizons, rediscover their place in the industry and better equip themselves to help realize their credit union’s strategic vision.”
The conference consists of a series of sessions and networking activities, during which attendees discuss industry and board topics, including the economy, regulations, advocacy, governance, finance and more. Additionally, the conference will be preceded by an optional, in-depth workshop on board governance on Jan. 26-27.
World Council, CCUA and CCCU will support the conference by recruiting international attendees to add more perspectives to the dialogue. CUNA Volunteer Conference is one of the few U.S. credit union events that consciously strives to incorporate an international perspective.
