CUNA will detail credit unions’ legal rights resulting from the Equifax data breach during a member-only conference call Tuesday at 4 p.m. (ET). Registration is now open for the free conference call.
Credit unions’ rights in the wake of the breach include potential participation in class action lawsuits. Susan Parisi, CUNA chief corporate counsel, Lance Noggle CUNA senior director of advocacy and counsel, and Joseph Guglielmo of the New York law firm, Scott & Scott will discuss credit union legal options stemming from the breach.
CUNA continues to monitor the breach and its aftermath’s effect on credit union members. It will be heavily engaged with the hearings on Capitol Hill this week, and into the future.
Last week CUNA announced it will file a lawsuit against Equifax, as a result of the data breach believed to have affected as many as 143 million consumers.
CUNA also hosted a previous webinar on the breach, detailing ways to mitigate fraud that might stem from the compromised information. A recorded version of this webinar is available for CUNA and CUNA Mutual Group members.
