CUNA has expanded the role of its Small Credit Union Committee liaison into a full-time position in order to enhance its service to small credit unions. Tom Sakash will serve in the position of CUNA’s small credit union advisor.
“This position will focus on maximizing the value of the Small Credit Union Committee’s work. Tom will work to build relationships with small credit unions across the country to identify their needs and challenges while building solutions to provide small credit unions with the resources they need to grow and thrive,” said CUNA President/CEO Jim Nussle. “Small credit unions are the lifeblood of the movement, and as the national association for all credit unions, we pledge to do more to support these institutions.”
Nussle added that the success of small credit union work depends on collaboration between CUNA and the leagues, and the additional national support will allow the CUNA/league system to provide important services on a greater scale.
CUNA launched its Small Credit Union Community earlier this year, an online platform to allow networking, idea sharing and problem solving among staff and volunteers.
