CUNA and the Credit Union Association of New Mexico hosted CUNA’s fourth Campaign School of the 2018 election cycle Monday, a program designed to educate prospective political candidates and campaign workers. CUNA has been hosting the one-day, nonpartisan events for the past 20 years.
“We’ve found over the years that this is a really successful program when it comes to providing early exposure to credit unions for first-time candidates who end up running for office and often end up moving to higher levels of office,” said Trey Hawkins, CUNA’s vice president of political affairs. “It’s a terrific program, and we’re excited to be partnering with the Credit Union Association of New Mexico for it.”
CUNA political affairs staff joined local politicians from both Santa Fe and the state of New Mexico, as well as other political professionals.
The day’s activities included sessions on:
