FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (3/12/15)--Chalk up another positive news report about the benefits of credit unions over banks. Credit unions saw positive coverage, with a story in MoneyTalksNews.com (March 11) accompanied by a YouTube video. Both tout reasons to join a credit union.
In the video, MoneyTalksNews founder Stacy Johnson visited Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based BrightStar CU to check out the pros and cons of credit unions. Among the pros he found: credit unions pay more on savings and charge less on loans, are flexible in lending, offer free checking and no or lower fees.

Johnson also noted that credit unions have member eligibility requirements, fewer perks on credit cards because they don't charge higher interest rates, and fewer online services. He advised that consumers wanting to earn more and pay less can find a credit union by going to the MoneyTalksNews.com website and putting "credit union" in its search function.
