The Associated Credit Union Foundation donated hundreds of presents to the Quinn House, Operation HomeFront Georgia, and Norcross Co-op Ministry, fulfilling the gift wishes of more than 600 children through its Fifth Annual Making Caring Count for Christmas Program.
The children’s gift wishes were displayed on paper ornaments in 25 Associated Credit Union Metro Atlanta offices. Credit union members and employees purchased the presents and, in many cases, bought two or three extra gifts for each child to open on Christmas morning.
The Associated Credit Union Foundation, formed in 2009, is a 501(c)3 organization that strives to promote social and economic well-being for the community and the employees of companies served by Associated Credit Union, a $1.3 billion asset institution located in Norcross, Ga.
The CFPB released the results of its survey on debt collection Thursday, prior to its discussion on the same topic. The survey, which consisted of 53 questions about first- and third-party debt collection, does not specifically identify credit unions.
The CFPB will discuss debt collection at a public event Thursday, scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. (ET). The event will feature remarks from CFPB Director Richard Cordray and will be streamed live online.
