The most walkable city in the world will be host to World Council of Credit Unions’ 2013 World Credit Union Conference—the largest international gathering for credit unions.
More than 2,500 credit union leaders from around the world will make the trek to Ottawa, Canada, July 14–17, 2013.
Throughout the conference, attendees will “walk the walk” by learning about critical topics such as mobile banking, social media, and competing in the ever-changing financial services landscape.
Keynote speakers include KPMG partner Ian Shelley, a leader in information technology and mobile technology development for financial institutions, and Charlene Li, a top expert on social media and technologies, and the best-selling author of “Groundswell” and “Open Leadership.”
Attendees of the World Credit Union Conference, held in cooperation with Credit Union Central of Canada, will have the opportunity to network with credit union leaders from more than 50 countries and visit some of Canada’s most successful credit unions.
Canada’s credit unions and caisses populaires are known throughout the world for their ground-breaking technological and youth outreach achievements.
Outside the Ottawa Convention Centre, attendees will have the chance to “walk the walk” in Canada’s capital city, known for its signature culture and style. Some of Canada’s most famous landmarks are only steps outside the conference center.
Tour Parliament Hill and see the changing of the guard. Take a boat ride on the legendary Rideau Canal or stroll through hundreds of world-class exhibits in Canada’s outstanding museums and galleries, including the Museum of Civilization. Experience the lively ByWard Market for shopping and cuisine you cannot find anywhere else. Attendees may even see the celebrated Canadian Mounties on duty.
In addition to the World Credit Union Conference, attendees can enhance their Ottawa experience with bonus networking and learning opportunities, including:
Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions Golf Tournament (July 13);
Global Women’s Leadership Forum (July 13-14);
World Council’s Young Credit Union People Program (offered throughout the conference);

While attendees build their professional networks and take in top-shelf presentations, spouses and guests can tour the city, view significant historical sites, and visit award-winning destinations.
