The Capricornian, a credit union in Central Queensland, Australia, celebrated International Credit Union Day for the first time this year, says Natalie Ohl, marketing manager.
The credit union “organised radio talk back with some of our local stations” and hosted “international-inspired” morning teas in all of its six branches, Ohl says.
The Capricornian also gave away free coffee at local coffee shops throughout the day and gave away gift cards and thank-you letters to a handful of members as a token of appreciation.
“We hope to do a lot more next year,” Ohl says.
The credit union has operated for more than 50 years, and now has 12,000 members.
