Credit union professionals who want to expand their business lending knowledge should plan to attend CUNA's Business Lending Certification Institute, July 20-24, 2015, at the University of Wisconsin's Fluno Center for Executive Education in Madison.
The three-year program helps students develop a comprehensive understanding of their business services while identifying how to boost their business lending potential through expert-led sessions designed to address real-life business scenarios.
The Institute is offered in three parts:
1. Fundamentals (year one). Attendees develop a solid foundation for their business awareness and leave with a sophisticated understanding of the components involved in business lending services.
2. Credit analysis (year two). Attendees gain an intimate understanding of the challenges business members face in making debt service payments and other financial responsibilities.
3. Advanced credit analysis (year three). Advanced attendees receive practical, hands-on experience with credit analysis and return to their credit unions with the skills to serve even the most complex business member portfolio.
Attendees also can officially establish themselves as unique authorities in business lending by earning their CUNA Credit Union Business Lending Professional designation upon completion of the third year.
