Starting Feb. 2, NCUA will accept applications for its first round of 2015 technical assistance grants. Eligible low-income designated credit unions can receive up to $7,000 in funding for the following grant initiatives:
“Eligible low-income credit unions should take advantage of these technical assistance grants from NCUA,” Bill Myers, director of NCUA’s Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives (OSCUI), says in December’s The NCUA Report.
“Credit unions have used student interns to develop new websites and marketing campaigns, and for additional front-office support,” Myers notes. “Our staff training grants can help credit unions stay up to date on a number of regulatory and compliance issues. I encourage all eligible credit unions to submit an application.”
NCUA will provide up to $360,000 in funding to low-income credit unions in the first half of 2015. The application period runs through March 3.
The Community Development Revolving Loan Fund, which OSCUI administers, provides funding for NCUA’s grant initiatives.
Credit unions may submit their applications online. For more information, visit ncua.gov/resources/oscui.
