CCUA forms new network for volunteers

April 28, 2015

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. (4/28/15)--The Cooperative Credit Union Association (CCUA) has developed a new group for credit union volunteers.

The Volunteer Network is intended to reach both veteran directors as well as those who are new to credit unions to introduce one and all to the many benefits of association membership, the latest advocacy developments, and industry resources, as well as to foster a mentoring and networking program, the CCUA reported (Daily CU Scan April 27).

The vision of the new Volunteer Network is to keep its members informed and connected with their credit union peers by providing exclusive access to a directors-only platform.

The Volunteer Network will hold its first meeting set for May 11. The meeting will begin with an open discussion of the new network's structure, leadership and future topics, as well as a credit union system and association update by CCUA President/CEO Paul Gentile.

The meeting will feature a presentation on the latest trends in credit union CEO compensation. A CUNA Mutual Group executive benefit specialist will provide an overview of executive compensation so directors can be informed on the most effective ways to retain and attract top talent.
