LAS VEGAS (11/5/14)--A celebration of the life of Warren Morrow and the Hispanic outreach fund named in his honor was held Tuesday at the Credit Union National Association's Community Credit Union and Growth Conference here.
Hispanic market solutions company Coopera, in partnership with CUNA, developed a grant fund in honor of the late Morrow, a credit union advocate and a Coopera founder. The fund honors Morrow's vision and dedication to the idea of serving the underserved through credit unions.
The Warren Morrow Hispanic Growth Fund, announced earlier this year and established through the National Credit Union Foundation, will help credit unions with less than $500 million in assets start or enhance a Hispanic growth program.
Miriam De Dios, chief executive officer of Coopera, said the fund has raised approximately $14,000 to date and will be ready to offer grants once it reaches it fundrasing target of $50,000.
Morrow died in early 2012 at the age of 34.
