WASHINGTON (3/10/15)--Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio) gave some advice on getting things done in a video address to nearly 5,000 credit union leaders at CUNA's Governmental Affairs Conference Monday.
Boehner said he came to Washington, D.C., as a small business owner concerned about the future of the country, and among his priorities in the 114th Congress is "doing something about the combative and coercive" regulations being brought by federal regulators.
He closed by imploring those in attendance to use their numbers to get their goals accomplished.
"I only represent about 725,000 people in southwest Ohio. All of you represent 100 million Americans," he said. "Stay engaged, make your voice heard and keep up the good work."
