WASHINGTON (2/23/15)--The House Financial Services Committee Friday announced two hearings for this week: one to receive the semiannual report on monetary policy and the state of the economy from the Federal Reserve chair, the other to examine the financial health of the Federal Housing Administration (FHA).
On Wednesday at 10 a.m. (ET), Fed Chair Janet Yellen will make her semiannual report to Congress in the Capitol Visitor Center. As usual, she--as Fed chair--is the sole witness scheduled for the session.
The following day, the House Financial Services subcommittee on housing and insurance will conduct its second in a series of hearings on FHA's financial health that began with Housing and Urban Development Director Juan Castro earlier this month.
The hearing is titled "The Future of Housing in America: Oversight of the Federal Housing Administration--Part II" and a witness list was not available late Friday.
